People And Places are finally here, plus revamped unarmed combat

It's finally here!

I got around to finishing the PDF file for the promised "People And Places" book, with a whole load of worldbuilding info to be used and/or discarded by GMs running Seekers In The Blasted Zones.

You'll find an introduction to the various races (phenotypes, in the game's terminology) I dreamed up for the game world, along with social structures and relations in the post-apocalyptic landscape. And you'll also find information about that landscape. It's broad descriptions, for the most part, and GMs can of course do what they want with it to fill in details both of what the Apocalypse actually was, and how it's affected some areas or not.

There's information about the dwellings and communities, some of the roles you might encounter in NPCs, and all that sort of thing.

Revamped Unarmed Combat

I've felt for a while that the unarmed combat rule system doesn't fit with the overall themes of this game, and that I should just take it out. So, in this rules update, I've done just that. The replacement is a variant on the main combat mechanic, but with less catastrophic consequences (in most cases). The hope is that this will be faster and fit better with the peril and risk themes of the rest of the rulebook. I'm calling this version 1.5 of the game.

The old unarmed combat system will be worked up into a whole separate TTRPG game, leaning into the cinematic narrative style of fighting and putting it right at the centre, instead of being a separate dynamic in a bigger game.
