Fabulous Frissons

Some decades ago, a dreadful catastrophic event devastated human civilisation as we knew it. The remnants of humanity who survived were left with a few desperate settlements to glean what they could from the wreckage of what went before, and to scrape a living from the tormented dirt and rivulets that remained fertile enough to grow.

Over time, they formed communities, spread out and re-settled farther afield, and started to rebuild. In a lawless wasteland, it was possible for entertainment and service industries to begin once more, and for traders to trek across the blasted landscape enabling the villages and towns to exchange products and better meet their needs.

But there are also many predators, both animal and human, who have grown stronger and more dangerous in the post-apocalyptic world. It is a dangerous, deadly place to earn a living.

You are the performers and proprietors of a performance house and tavern called the Fabulous Frissons, making a living by providing something naughty, irreverent, and spicy for the travellers and locals (if there are any) to enjoy. In other words, it's burlesque. (Alternatively, you could be a travelling burlesque show, performing in a new town every night.)

The drink flows free, the music is raucous, the songs are bawdy, the comedy is physical, and the dancing and strippers are totally lewd. That's you, by the way. You're the musicians, the comedians, the dancers and strippers, and so on.

It's a living and a life, but it is still precarious. Many people might want to destroy your burlesque house, or plunder your wealth and possessions. Others might be interested in taking over the nearest town. There may be wild animals and mutants headed your way, either to feed or just oblivious to the death and damage they could cause.

Alternatively, you might have reason to pursue some errand across the wastelands yourselves: perhaps someone you care about is in need, or you have heard of a great treasure that would let you change career path. And of course, none of you would let your friend go alone on any such errand.

While the game itself is complete, it is currently released in an "early access" state, without much in the way of artwork, logos or anything.
