Waning Words

Angelic Beings sent from a divine realm into a world tarnished by the primordial actions of an Evil One to resist and thwart the plans of a Great Evil - either the Evil One themself, or their most powerful lieutenant.

But, taking on a corporeal form while being inherently etherial and otherworldly is more challenging than you might think: sometimes it is hard to communicate to the physical form the exact intentions. And when you do manage to, the immense power of your Words leak out from your mind and impact the world around you.

That's the premise of Waning Words!

When you use an ability, the number of words you are allowed to say to the GM is limited by your ability stat, and everything else must be non-verbal (mime, drawing, wordless vocalisations, whatever helps you convey what your character is trying to do).

Oh yeah, and every time you succeed in an action, your ability stat goes down. The only way to restore your words is to manage an action without speaking at all.
